US Embassy Releases Statement About Green Dam

By admin On June 25, 2009 No Comments

“The U.S. Government is concerned about Green Dam both in terms of its potential impact on trade and the serious technical issues raised by use of the software. … The U.S. is concerned about actions that seek to restrict access to the Internet as well as restrictions on the internationally recognized right to freedom of expression.  They should push for a commercial solution. If the government is purporting to be focused on blocking pornography, then the industry should work with the government to ensure that there is an open market for quality net-nanny products in China. If the government wants to require computer makers to install net-nanny software at the factory, then the computer makers should be free to choose which software they believe would be most effective without damaging the performance of the computers they sell.”

Recently, the Chinese regime required that all new computers in China be installed with its Internet filtering software called Green Dam.

Computer experts and human rights watchdogs, upon examining the software, found two primary findings which are shocking but unexpected.

After sitting idle for a couple of years and getting comment spammed to death, this human rights blog is back and coming to life! And it’s running on the freshest new version of Wordpress.

Human rights is, and should be, one of the most important issues everybody face and think about. A human being and life should have the most basic rights. Human rights being violated anywhere are the concern for all citizens of this world. Until the basic rights of a human being is respected and upheld, human life will not fully valued.

That’s it for this first post to get this blog going again. Please check back soon.
